Candidate for Assessor, Lindsay Backas
Lindsay Backas – Candidate for Summit County Assessor
We are delighted to announce that Lindsay Backas, a former Vice Chairman of the Summit County Republicans, will be running for Summit County Assessor in November 2010. This is a post long held by Democrats, but it is time for some fresh blood in the office. Lindsay is a well qualified candidate with a broad range of experience.
As a resident of Blue River, Lindsay Backas has been Trustee of the Town of Blue River and, currently, is its most successful Mayor. Lindsay has led the Town through some difficult issues, mainly relating to its infrastructure, and has been successful in her endeavors. Earlier last decade she was an employee of the Finance Office in the Summit County Courthouse. Her dedication to public service is evident to all those who have worked with her, and those who continue to do so.
Lindsay Backas’ experience is not only with government entities, but extends to the private sector. She has been involved in the banking and mortgage industries, having worked with a number of Summit County banks.
Like many other Summit County residents, Lindsay Backas hails from elsewhere. She moved from New Jersey, where her children and grandchildren still live, to our mountain community in 1997 with her husband, and elected to live at one of our County’s higher residential elevations. As a Rotarian, and one of the founding members of Breckenridge Mountain Rotary, she gives her time to fundraising for the support of community activities. Next year she will be President of her Rotary Club and we wish her well with this esteemed position.
We need a new face in the Assessor’s office, and one who will work hard, with dedication, efficiency and integrity, to protect our property interests. We ask you to support and vote for our candidate for Summit County Assessor, Lindsay Backas.
