š What Is the Republican Caucus?
Colorado uses a caucus and assembly system that allows registered party members to help shape the primary ballot and select delegates who represent their precinct at higherālevel assemblies. The Precinct Caucuses and County Assembly will be held on the same date (March 7th) and the same location. The Summit County Precinct Caucuses are conducted first, followed by a short break, and then the County Assembly will gavel in.
š Date, Location, and Purpose
- Date: March 7, 2026, 2 ā 4pm, Complimentary Appetizers & Cash Bar 4-6pm
- Location: Elks Lodge, 1321 Blue River Pkwy, Silverthorne
- Purpose:
- Each Precincts will elect their representatives to the Summit County Assembly
- During the County Assembly delegates will be elected to represent the County at the State Assembly
- County Assembly can decide to submit resolutions for consideration by the State Assembly
- Discuss and recommend candidates for the June 30, 2026, Republican primary ballot
- Engage local voters in the early stages of the 2026 election cycle
š§ Who Can Participate?
Everyone may attend the caucus, but only voters who are registered Republicans living in the precinct at least 22 days beforehand may take part. Seventeenāyearāolds who meet those requirements and will be 18 by Novemberās General Election may also participate in the caucus and convention. A picture ID will be required at check-in to participate in the caucus.
You can check your voter registration and party affiliation at GoVoteColorado.gov.
Participants who cannot attend in person due to a disability may request remote access via zoom by contacting Summit County Chair, Lori Cutunilli, 970-485-0819 before February 7th.
Find Your Precinct Number
- Go to GoVoteColorado.gov.
- Scroll down to “Find My Registration”, click on the link, and complete the form.
- Click on the “County & District Information” tab.
- The last two digits of your long precinct number are your basic precinct number.
Why It Matters for Summit County
Caucus results help determine which candidates appear on the primary ballot for countywide offices and influence the direction of the local party. These meetings are a key opportunity for Summit County residents to get involved early in the 2026 election season.
š What to Expect at the Meeting
Participants typically:
- Sign in and verify eligibility
- Elect precinct leaders
- Nominate and vote for delegates
- Discuss local, state, and federal races
- Learn about upcoming assemblies and campaign activities
